Biography of Slimane

Slimane Nebchi, professionally known as Slimane, is a celebrated French singer-songwriter born on October 13, 1989, in Chelles, France. Of Algerian descent, his grandparents migrated from Biskra and Ghazaouet to Paris. Slimane's musical journey began with online releases of his original compositions, including "Toi et moi" "Je n'y suis pour rien" ,"Salem" and "Amour Impossible" the latter performed as a duo with Princesse Sofia.

Prior to gaining recognition on The Voice: la plus belle voix, Slimane participated in various music competitions such as Nouvelle Star in 2009, X Factor in 2011, and “Encore une chance“in 2012. Additionally, he performed alongside Richard Cross during the Star Music Beach Tour in 2012. In 2015, he secured a secondary role in Didier Barbelivien's French musical, Marie-Antoinette et le Chevalier de Maison-Rouge.

However, it was in 2016, at the age of 26, that Slimane rose to prominence after auditioning for season 5 of The Voice: la plus belle voix with the song "À fleur de toi" originally by Vitaa. His mesmerizing performance garnered the attention of all four judges, leading him to choose Team Florent Pagny. On May 14, 2016, Slimane emerged victorious with 33% of the public vote, clinching the title over his fellow finalist, MB14.

Since then, Slimane has enjoyed a successful solo career, achieving over twenty-five chart entries on the French Singles Chart and releasing four studio albums, three of which reached number one on the French Albums Charts. Notably, he also secured a number-one single as a featured artist with the song "Bella ciao". Scheduled to represent France in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 with his song "Mon amour," Slimane continues to captivate audiences with his soulful voice and heartfelt performances.

The French entry "Mon Amour" was unveiled as the first Eurovision Song Contest entry for Malmö in 2023.
