Biography of Marcus & Martinus

Marcus & Martinus, also known as M&M, are a dynamic Norwegian dance-pop duo composed of identical twin brothers Marcus and Martinus Gunnarsen, born on February 21, 2002, in Elverum, Norway. Since their victory in Melodi Grand Prix Junior in 2012, they have garnered widespread acclaim, earning accolades such as the Spellemannprisen in 2017. Their musical journey has been marked by the release of three successful albums: “Hei”, “Together”, and “Moments”.

The duo's musical prowess was evident early on when they clinched victory in Melodi Grand Prix Junior with their captivating performance of "To dråper vann" . This victory propelled them into the spotlight, leading to the release of their debut studio album, “Hei”, in 2015. Featuring hit singles like "Plystre på deg" and "Elektrisk"  “Hei” topped the Norwegian Albums Chart, solidifying their position in the music industry.

Their subsequent albums, Together and Moments, further cemented their success, with chart-topping singles like "Girls", "Heartbeat" and "Make You Believe in Love" . Marcus & Martinus' popularity extended beyond Norway, as evidenced by their performances at notable events like the Nobel Peace Prize Concert in 2016.

In addition to their musical endeavours, Marcus & Martinus have made waves on the international stage, collaborating with renowned artists like American rapper Silentó on the single "Like It Like It" . Their participation in Eurovision-related events, including announcing Jury points for Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017, further solidified their global presence.

In 2022, Marcus & Martinus emerged victorious in the Swedish version of Masked Singer, showcasing their versatility as performers. They continued to captivate audiences with their first single of the year, "When All the Lights Go Out" .

Their participation in Melodifestivalen in 2023 with “Air”  and 2024 highlighted their commitment to pushing musical boundaries. Their song "Unforgettable" secured them victory in Melodifestivalen 2024, earning them the opportunity to represent host nation Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö.
