Biography of Ziferblat

Ukraine is celebrating its 20th anniversary of participating in the Eurovision Song Contest—congratulations! However, for the fourth consecutive year, the national final had to be held in a secret bunker due to the ongoing war. While this is a tragic reminder of the country’s hardships, it also stands as a testament to Ukraine’s resilience, determination, and unwavering commitment to celebrating its music and culture.

This year’s winners, Ziferblat (Циферблат), are an indie-pop trio consisting of brothers Danyjil and Walentyn Leschtschynskyj, along with drummer Fedir Chodakow, who joined later. The band was founded in 2015, releasing their debut EP “Kinoseans” in 2017. Two years later, they gained wider recognition by performing their song “Vnochi” on X-Factor Ukraine. Their Eurovision journey began last year when they finished as runners-up in Vidbir with “Place I Call Home” . This year, they went a step further, winning the competition with “Bird of Pray”.

Ziferblat brings a fresh, unconventional indie-pop sound to Eurovision. With their distinctive style and modern, international approach, they represent a new wave of Ukrainian music, ready to make an impact on the global stage.
