Biography of Zoë Më

This year, Switzerland takes centre stage as the host country, and all eyes will be on its entry. Following Nemo’s victorious The Code, Swiss broadcaster SRF has once again opted for an internal selection. Their choice fell on Basel-born singer Zoë Më, whose full name is Zoë Alina Kressler.

Born in 2000, Zoë spent part of her childhood in Germany before her family returned to Fribourg, Switzerland, in 2009. By the age of ten, she was already writing her own songs, primarily in German and French. Alongside her music career, Zoë is also a teacher. In 2018, she joined the La Gustav Academy, a Swiss initiative that nurtures musical talent.

Her rise in the music industry has been impressive—winning the Best Talent Award from RTS Artiste Radar and SRF 3 in 2024, an honour previously awarded to artists like Nemo and Marius Bear. She has graced prestigious stages, including the Montreux Jazz Festival and Luzern Live, and has toured alongside Remo Forrer and Joya Marleen.

Now, Zoë is ready to defend Switzerland’s title. Describing herself as a “little fairy,” she brings a unique charm to this year’s competition. Her first EP “Dorienne Gris” has been released last year.

The song Voyage is a beautifully poetic French ballad that builds to an emotional climax. Notably, this year features several French-language entries from Switzerland, France, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands. As one of the few ballads in the competition, Voyage is sure to draw attention.

Lyrically, the song takes the listener on an introspective journey through poetic thoughts and emotions:

Tu comprendras un jour
Que les fleurs sont plus belles
Quand tu les arroses
Tu m’as coupé tellement de…

However, history has shown that host countries often struggle on the scoreboard, a curious phenomenon, perhaps due to the perception that they have already won. This makes it all the more crucial for Switzerland to deliver a stunning stage performance. While Voyage may be a quieter entry in a field of more dynamic songs, its calm and reflective nature could provide a welcome moment of serenity in today’s fast-paced world.

Zoë admitted: "I'm from Basel, and my grandparents live here. For me, this is a full-circle moment, like in a fairy tale."
