Biography of Miriana Conte
Miriana Conte, a 24-year-old singer from Malta, is set to take the international stage at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel with her dynamic entry “Serving.” Born in 2000, Marina has been a prominent figure in the Maltese music scene since 2017, having first gained recognition as a member of the group 4th Line.
Her road to Eurovision has been one of persistence and passion. After several attempts at the Malta Eurovision Song Contest, she finally clinched the top spot in 2025, marking a breakthrough moment in her career.
Originally titled “Kant” (means singing in Maltese language) her winning song was later rebranded as “Serving”, as the word could be misunderstood in the English speaking world, which is a strong insult for women. The EBU invented here to change the title and to eliminate the word from the lyrics. Even the BBC said that it would not be possible to play this on the radio.
As excitement builds ahead of the contest in Basel, all eyes are on Conte. Her journey to Eurovision is a testament to her artistic growth, resilience, and unwavering commitment to representing her country on one of the world’s biggest musical stages.

Both the live performance at the Malta Eurovision Song Contest and the official music video make it clear “Serving” leans heavily into bold visual storytelling and unapologetic sexual innuendo. This provocative style draws an immediate connection to Finland’s 2025 entry “Ich Komme”, suggesting a thematic trend in this year’s contest.
Musically, “Serving” is a confident, contemporary pop song packed with sleek production and modern sound design that resonates strongly with a younger audience. It marks a striking departure from the traditional ballads Malta has often sent to Eurovision, signalling a fresh, fearless direction. There’s even a subtle echo of Destiny’s signature flair in the melody—a nod, perhaps, to Malta’s evolving Eurovision identity.
Penned by an international team of songwriters from Malta, Norway, and Switzerland, “Serving” brings cross-border creativity to the stage. But whether this edgy, genre-shifting entry can cut through the noise and secure a place in the Grand Final in Basel remains the big question.
