Biography of Gabry Ponte
San Marino may be Europe’s smallest country, but its Eurovision selection process is one of the most elaborate. This year, over 1,200 songs from 48 countries were submitted, with the competition featuring an extensive format of 17 casting shows and eight semi-finals. In the end, the renowned DJ and producer Gabry Ponte secured the ticket to Basel.
The 51-year-old Ponte, a celebrated figure in the music industry, co-wrote the Sanremo theme song, an infectious hit at Italy’s iconic festival, alongside Edwyn Clark Roberts and Andrea Bonomo, the song’s vocalist. Since 1998, Ponte has been one of Italy’s most influential producers, credited with global hits such as Blue (Da Ba Dee) by Eiffel 65 and Thunder (in collaboration with LUM!X and Prezioso), along with countless remixes.
His accolades include a Grammy nomination in 2000 with Eiffel 65, as well as winning Best Italian Artist in the World at the MTV Europe Music Awards. Gabry Ponte is no stranger to Eurovision either—he co-wrote Austria’s 2022 entry, “Halo”, performed by LUM!X and Pia Maria.
With over 8 million records sold, chart-topping success worldwide, and a staggering 90 live performances across 11 countries, Gabry Ponte’s influence in the electronic music scene is undeniable. Now, he’s ready to bring his signature sound to the Eurovision stage.

The song Tutta L'Italia has already gained significant recognition, having been played during the Sanremo Festival. This danceable anthem, infused with a touch of sarcasm, playfully highlights the defining elements of Italian culture: football, fashion, and food, while hinting that, at times, there’s more spectacle than substance.
With its infectious rhythm and catchy chorus, “Tutta L'Italia” has the charm of a lively carnival song. If paired with a strong stage presentation, it has the potential to make a lasting impression in Basel.
