Biography of PARG
Pargev Vardanian, known artistically as Parg, was born in the village of Hayravank on the shores of Lake Sevan, in Armenia's Gegharkunik Province. From an early age, he was immersed in music, singing in the local church choir. Later, his family relocated to Volgograd, Russia, where Parg pursued studies in theatre and acting.
While studying, he co-founded the band ‘The Edge Chronicles” which toured across Armenia, Russia, Georgia, and Ukraine between 2017 and 2018. In 2021, he released his debut single “Ginin u Grely” marking the start of his solo music career.
In 2022, Parg returned to Armenia and settled in Yerevan. “There’s something special about being here—the culture, the landscapes, the people—it all feeds my creativity,” he says.
Parg primarily performs in Armenian, with his music deeply rooted in the nation’s cultural heritage. However, his Eurovision entry “Survivor” marks a bold departure from his previous work—not only because it's in English, but also due to its unique style and sound. Since then, he has also released cover versions of songs by fellow Armenian Eurovision artists Rosa Linn and Brunette.
Blending tradition with innovation, Parg is seen as a rising force in modern Armenian pop music. He competed in the Armenian national selection ‘Depi Evratesil’ with “Survivor”, where he triumphed over several strong contenders, including Athena Manoukian, the 2020 winner, earning first place with 214 points.
His latest single, “Araj” continues to build momentum and was recently nominated for ‘Best Music Video’ at the Armenian Music Video Awards, solidifying his growing influence on the national music scene.

“Survivor” is an anthem of resilience, about fighting to stay strong and refusing to be defeated. Musically, it's a bold fusion of gritty rock and electronic elements, making it stand out from the other entries in this year’s Eurovision line-up. Unlike most ESC songs, which often lean toward pop or ballads, “Survivor” takes a tougher, edgier approach.
The song was co-written by Parg himself, alongside renowned Swedish composers Thomas G:son and Peter Boström, the duo behind numerous Eurovision hits, as well as Benji Alasu, known for composing Nemo’s “The Code.” With such a powerhouse team behind it, “Survivor” has strong potential. However, whether this genre-defying rock track will resonate with both the juries and the public remains the big question.
