Biography of Klavdia

For the first time since 2015, Greece held a national final “Ethnikos Telikos” after years of internally selected entries by broadcaster ERT. In a close competition, Klavdia secured her ticket to Basel, winning by just two points over fan favourite Evangelia.

Klavdia Papadopoulou was born in 2002 in Aspropyrgos, near Athens. She first gained recognition on Greece’s Got Talent and later competed in The Voice Greece in 2018, finishing in fourth place with her performance of “Haramanta” , which went double platinum. Shortly after, she signed with Panik Records and released her debut album “Klavdia”.

The Song

Song Asteromáta
Writer(s): Arcade
Composer(s): Arcade & Klavdia
Broadcaster: ERT

This year’s Greek entry carries a mystical aura, blending smooth ethno-inspired sounds that transport the listener to another world. Asteromáta, meaning Starry Eyes, tells the poignant story of people forced to leave their homes due to conflict—a deeply emotional and highly relevant theme. The song specifically pays tribute to the Pontic Greeks, who endured displacement, deportation, and immense sorrow.

In the song text it says:

The swallows born of fire’s embrace,
No matter how far they roam,
Shall never forget the sacred earth
That once they called their home.

With a clever stage show this song could really stand out, of the other faster songs this year in Basel.
