Abor & Tynna | Germany 2025

Biography of Abor & Tynna

This year’s German national final drew considerable attention—largely thanks to the involvement of Stefan Raab, who spearheaded the project “Chefsache ESC – Wer singt für Deutschland?” Raab is no stranger to the Eurovision stage, having participated as a composer, performer, conductor, and even as a host during the 2011 contest in Düsseldorf. His extensive experience and deep understanding of Eurovision brought significant credibility and excitement to the selection process, making him a valuable asset for broadcaster NDR.

In a closely contested final, the standout act emerged in the form of the sibling duo Abor & Tynna, who captivated audiences with their unconventional entry “Baller.”

Tünde and Attila, known artistically as Tynna and Abor, were born and raised in Vienna, with Hungarian and Romanian roots. Music runs in the family—their father plays cello in the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. The duo began writing songs together in 2016, releasing their first track on SoundCloud, which caught attention when their mother shared it on Facebook. A producer soon invited them into the studio, leading to more releases over the years. Since then, they've written and produced around 60 tracks.

In 2023, they had a major breakthrough, opening for Nina Chuba on tour in Bremen. As their musical identities evolved, Tünde became the vocalist and songwriter Tynna, while Attila took on the role of producer as Abor. Their sound blends pop, hip-hop, and electronic elements, and in 2024, they released their debut album “Bittersüß.”

Though born in Austria, the duo now lives in Berlin, and since 90% of their music is produced in Germany, they were eligible to represent the country at Eurovision. In a curious twist, the Austrian broadcaster ORF had previously approached them for an internal selection in 2020, but they declined, feeling it wasn’t the right time.

Germany’s entry is a high-energy track that captures the emotional chaos of a breakup—but in a way that’s anything but melancholic. With its fast tempo, bold sound, and infectious vibe, the song turns heartbreak into a danceable, almost celebratory experience. It's loud, vibrant, and unapologetically different, making it a true standout in this year’s Eurovision line-up in Basel, especially since no other entry shares this kind of sonic style.

Whether that uniqueness will be enough to secure a win remains uncertain—but it’s clear that Germany has set its sights high, hoping to finally bring the Eurovision trophy back home.
