Biography of Princ
Stefan Zdravković (Стефан Здравковић), known by his stage name Princ, was born in 1993 in Vranje, southern Serbia. A multi-talented artist, he began playing guitar and drums during his school years and, at just 15, founded the band ‘Šesta žica’ with a group of friends. In 2002, he moved to Belgrade, where he later studied Norwegian and Scandinavian Studies at the University of Belgrade.
Outside of music, Princ is also an accomplished martial artist. A black belt in karate, he was once the Serbian national champion, Balkan vice champion, and a proud member of the Serbian national karate team.
Since 2016, he has been the lead singer of the rock band ‘Sisyphus’, and in 2020, he took on the title role in a Serbian stage production of ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’. His first major breakthrough came in 2021 when he reached the Top 12 in The Voice of Bulgaria, earning him wider recognition in the region.
Princ was originally set to participate in ‘Pesma za Evroviziju’, Serbia’s Eurovision national selection in 2022, but withdrew due to creative differences with the song’s writer. He returned in 2023 with the song “Cvet Sa Istoka” , which won the public vote but ultimately placed second behind Luke Black.
This year, Princ finally clinched victory in ‘Pesma za Evroviziju’. Although he didn’t receive the top points from either the jury or the public individually, the combined voting system worked in his favour, securing him the honour of representing Serbia in Basel. The Song
Song: Mila
Writer(s): Dušan Bačić
Composer(s): Dušan Bačić
Broadcaster: RTS
In “Mila,” Princ delivers a stirring ballad about a man abandoned by love, yet unwavering in his resolve to fight for it. The performance is vocally powerful and emotionally charged, capturing the essence of classic Balkan drama. With its soaring, unforgettable chorus, poetic Serbian lyrics, and a delicate piano interlude, the song weaves vulnerability with strength in a way that resonates deeply.
Mila
You’ve paid the price for my love
Mila
You’ve brought life back from the edge
You have many reasons
To love another one
But I only want to take care of you
This entry marks one of Serbia’s strongest showings in recent years, evoking comparisons to the emotional depth and elegance last seen with Željko Joksimović. “Mila” could very well be the dark horse of the contest in Basel, an unexpected but worthy contender that might just capture Europe’s heart.
