Biography of Theo Evan

The Cypriot broadcaster PIK has internally selected the charismatic singer Theo Evan to represent the country at Eurovision. Born in Nicosia in 1997, Theo has been passionate about singing and dancing since childhood, participating in numerous talent shows and theatre productions.

After completing high school in Nicosia, he moved to the United States to study music and dance at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, an institution that has also nurtured several past Cypriot Eurovision performers.

Theo’s debut single “The Wall”  already showcased his exceptional dance skills, which are also evident in his Eurovision music video and other tracks like “Burn Us Down”.

The Song

Song: Shh
Writer(s): Dimitris Kontopoulos, Elke Tiel, Elsie Bay, Lasse Nymann & Linda Dale
Composer(s): Dimitris Kontopoulos, Elke Tiel, Elsie Bay, Lasse Nymann & Linda Dale
Broadcaster: CyBC

Judging by the music video for “Shh”, it’s clear that Theo draws inspiration from Michael Jackson, blending a powerful dance performance with an ultra-modern sound. The song’s unique title adds to its intrigue, as it delves into themes of dark secrets and self-doubt.

My desire and my love got me in trouble,
I’m decay and I’m revival, who am I?
Robbed by jealousy and cheated by my enemy,
From tears and blood to flowers, who am I?

If Theo can successfully bring the energy and intensity of the video to the Eurovision stage, a strong result in the final seems almost guaranteed.
