Biography of Red Sebastian
Red Sebastian, born Seppe Herreman in Oostende in 1999, is a Belgian artist hailing from the Flanders region. His musical journey began in 2011 when he started taking singing lessons and gained national attention by reaching the finals of Belgium’s Got Talent with a powerful performance of Christina Aguilera’s “Ain’t No Other Man.”
Seppe went on to study vocal performance at the Royal Conservatory in Ghent, where he was also mentored by Gustaph, Belgium’s Eurovision Song Contest representative.
In 2019, he adopted the stage name Red Sebastian—a tribute to the beloved red crab from Disney’s ‘Arielle - The Little Mermaid”. Beyond performing at private events such as weddings and birthday celebrations, Red Sebastian also shares his passion for music by teaching in schools in Bruges and Lokeren.
A talented pianist inspired by Lady Gaga from a young age, he released his debut single "Embrace Me" in 2021. In a major career milestone, Red Sebastian triumphed in the national final organized by Flemish broadcaster VRT, securing the highest number of votes from both the professional jury and the public.

The electro-pop track “Strobe Lights” is brought to life with a visually striking and cleverly crafted stage performance. Characterized by a powerful beat, techno-disco vibes, and an ethereal vocal line, the song is paired with dynamic choreography that enhances its futuristic energy. Marking a bold departure from Red Sebastian’s usual style, typically centred around ballads and softer melodies, this track showcases a daring new artistic direction.
A known enthusiast of the colour red, Red Sebastian is expected to deliver a visually intense, red-themed performance, as hinted by both the official music video and his eye-catching staging during the national final in Brussels. This entry joins a wave of unconventional performances inspired, in part, by last year’s eccentric winner Nemo, though “Strobe Lights” charts its own unique course.
Belgium’s 2025 entry is provocative, daring, and far from predictable. Whether this bold move will resonate with audiences across Europe remains to be seen, but it certainly won’t go unnoticed.
