Biography of The Busker
The Busker is an indie pop band from Malta, established in 2012 by David "Dav.Jr" Meilak, Jean Paul Borg, and Sean Meachen. Their music draws inspiration from 1960s pop bands like The Beatles and The Beach Boys. The band's debut album, "Telegram," was released in 2017, followed by "Ladies and Gentlemen" in the subsequent year. The group's inspiration draws from legendary artists such as Paul McCartney and Johnny Cash.
The group has been selected to represent Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023, performing their song "Dance (Our Own Party)." In November 2022, The Busker was confirmed as one of the 40 participants in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2023, which serves as the festival to select Malta's representative for the Eurovision Song Contest.
After winning the competition, the band secured the opportunity to represent Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023, taking place in Liverpool. Their lead vocalist and guitarist is David "Dav.Jr" Meilak, and the group also consists of Jean Paul Borg on drums and Sean Meachen on saxophone.
