The last days have been dominated by individual rehearsals of each delegation.

These are the impression from the first rehearsals:

Iceland

Dilja appears to be in high spirits as she sings and dances along to the music, even though if she is not on stage. Her attire is a striking silver-coloured suit that accentuates her energetic performance. The song itself is titled with a promise of power, and the visual presentation on the television screens suggests a promising outcome.

Greece

Victor, a 16-year-old singer, exudes a remarkable level of enthusiasm and displays a degree of experience beyond his years. He maintains a cool and relaxed attitude, exuding a natural sense of self-confidence. Interestingly, he’s donning shorts on stage, a rare outfit choice for an ESC performance.

 

Poland

The music video for the Polish entry had already hinted at a mellow and carefree song with a summery vibe. The live stage performance is consistent with this stylistic approach, featuring a large sun and Blanka sporting a short skirt as she appears to thoroughly enjoy herself in the arena. However, it remains to be seen whether any vocal issues that may arise can be successfully resolved.

 

Slovenia

Among this year’s entries, there are several bands with a similar stage presence, including Latvia, San Marino, and Slovenia. However, Slovenia appears to be the strongest contender, thanks in part to their unforgettable chorus and the solid vocal performance of the band. The members of Joker Out are all experienced musicians who have performed live gigs before, and this is evident in the way they have transformed the Liverpool arena into a vibrant concert venue with a lively atmosphere.

Georgia

During her performance of the song “Echo,” Ira from Georgia demonstrated a strong and assured vocal performance. She appeared to be filled with excitement and enthusiasm, thoroughly enjoying the sound of her music reverberating throughout the arena. In rehearsals, she wore a stunning white dress that flowed gracefully in the wind, adding to the dramatic effect of the song.

San Marino

The members of Picked Jacks appeared to thoroughly relish their experience on stage in the arena. Their sound was well-matched with the overall arrangement, and the band seemed to be in high spirits as they looked ahead to the first semi-final. Whether their song will stand out from the rest and earn them a coveted spot in the finals remains to be seen and will ultimately be determined on Tuesday.

Austria

The eagerly anticipated live performance from Austria’s representatives did not disappoint. The choreography was expertly executed and synchronized perfectly with the fast-paced rhythm of the song. The outfits worn by the performers were undoubtedly unique and may not have been to everyone’s taste, but the more distinctive a performance is, the more likely it is to be memorable for the television audience.

Albania

Albina & Familja Kelmendi, the family band representing their country, appeared to be in high spirits during their performance. The use of pyrotechnics on stage added to the mystic atmosphere of the song, and the family members waving handkerchiefs left a unique and lasting impression. Overall, their performance exceeded expectations, and the use of these special elements made their act stand out even more.

Lithuania

Experienced Lithuanian singer Monika is finally realizing her dream of representing her country as a solo artist, with the backing of a very talented chorus. The song’s mystic and convincing melody, combined with the strong vocal performance of the chorus, makes qualification to the next stage of the competition a strong possibility. Monika’s previous experience will undoubtedly serve her well as she pursues her goal of achieving success in this year’s event.

Australia

The Australian rock band Voyager clearly had a great time during their rehearsal. However, they face stiff competition this year as they are not the only rock band in the competition. In order to stand out from the rest, the band has brought a unique visual attraction on stage: a real car. Whether or not this will be enough to capture the attention of the TV viewers and propel them to the next round will ultimately be decided on Thursday.

France

The French song is infused with an energetic and frenzied vibe, and La Zarra exudes a strong sense of self-confidence as she performs. At one point in the song, she is lifted onto a raised stage, where she emerges in a stunning 10-meter-long black dress. While this is certainly an impressive visual, it is not entirely new or groundbreaking, as similar tricks have been used in past performances. Nonetheless, La Zarra’s bold and dynamic delivery makes for an engaging and memorable performance.

Germany

The members of the glamrock band Lord of Lost took the Liverpool arena by storm, donning striking red and golden outfits and delivering a loud and exciting performance. As a “Big 5” contestant, Germany does not need to qualify for the Grand Final. However, if Australia also qualifies for the Grand Final, it could result in two rock bands competing against each other and potentially cannibalizing each other’s chances of earning points. Despite the potential challenges, Lord of Lost’s high-energy performance was certainly a highlight of the event.

Italy

It’s hard to believe that ten years have passed since Marco Mengoni last graced the Eurovision stage, but his return is certainly highly anticipated. With a powerful new song in his repertoire, he is sure to impress audiences once again. During his first rehearsal, he sported a striking silver metal top paired with black leather pants, which could potentially be his final outfit for the event. Regardless of what he wears, Mengoni’s strong vocals and magnetic stage presence are sure to leave a lasting impression.

Spain

Blanca Paloma’s Spanish entry is likely to be divisive among viewers, with its strong flamenco rhythm and impassioned singing style. While the quality of Blanca’s vocals is undeniable, her style is certainly unique and may not be to everyone’s taste. It remains to be seen what her final outfit will be, but the song’s polarizing nature raises questions about whether it will be well-received by a broad audience.

United Kingdom
