It’s the 66th time, when the Europeans gather to watch on music show with an exciting voting procedure. Be part and don’t miss it!
Despite of the less inspiring semi-finals, the Italian broadcaster RAI has put a lot of effort in the production of the Grand Final. It’s going to be a very emotional ESC, after two years of Corona pandemic, the world is facing a war in Ukraine, caused by the Russian, who have been excluded from this event. It will also be visible in the intro “Give Peace A Chance” originally from John Lennon. Great to see that there is commitment and support for those who cannot enjoy this evening of music.
Laura Pausini, who is also one of this year’s hosts is going to sing a medley of her best songs, also including “La Solitude”, her first hit in the Sanremo Festival. Laura is also able to changer her outfit four times in this stage show. Later on, she is also showing some of the latest designer dresses.
In the interval act, Måneskin are going to present their new song. Even the first Italian winner from 1964 Gigliola Cinquetti is singing her song “Non ho l’eta” in a very special way. She appears still young and excited. In 1974 she came second with “Si”, just behind ABBA and “Waterloo”. In 1991 she hosted the ESC together with Toto Cotugno. Let’s hope that there will be standing ovations for her, unlike in the jury final from Friday night.
Another highlight will be a medley from the other host Mika, who is going have a colourful stage with flags and dance choir singing “Happy Ending”, that’s the point, when the telephone lines are getting closed and the exciting voting part begins.
In the voting procedure there is nothing new this year. All 40 juries (also the ones from the countries, which did not make it into the Grand Final) are giving their points in a random order. Only the 12 points are being named, the lower points appear on the screen. This is 50% of the votes, brought by the juries. The other 50% of the votes are coming from the TV viewers, who are eligible to vote. Here the votes are being announced in order of the jury outcome, starting with the country, which received the lowest points from the juries in ascending order to rise the excitement.
You can watch the show in the internet at 21.00 CET here or in any TV station, which is broadcasting the ESC.

As one of the founders of eurovisionlive.com I am responsible for the interviews with the singers and the editorial content. My passion for the Eurovision Song Contest exists since my early childhood. The exotic music, different cultures and languages have given a lot of inspiration to me. Since my very first ESC in Dublin 1994 I particularly appreciate the get together and friendship of all the nationalities and Riverdance was a thrill!
