On Saturday, we can tune in to the national finals in Finland, Latvia, Malta, and Ukraine, as well as the semi-finals in Iceland, Lithuania, and Sweden.
Finland
This year’s Finnish national final, UMK (Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu)—which translates to „Competition of New Music“—will take place at Nokia Arena in Tampere. This marks Finland’s 58th entry in the Eurovision Song Contest.
The show will be hosted by Sanni & Jasmin Beloued and will feature six competing entries. Initially, a seventh entry, „Puppy“ by One Morning Left, was included but had to be withdrawn due to contract issues.
The winner will be decided through a 50/50 voting system, with equal weight given to the jury and the public vote.
The UMK can be watched on the YLE player at 20.00 CET.
Here are the six contestants:

Lauris is a well-known figure in Latvia, having previously represented the country in Eurovision 2003 as part of the group FLY with the song „Hello from Mars“ (watch here).
As in previous years, the winner will be determined by a combination of jury and public votes, securing Latvia’s 25th entry in the Eurovision Song Contest.
You can watch the Supernova Final on the LTV Player at 20.10 CET.

In Malta, the Malta Eurovision Song Contest is always one of the biggest TV highlights of the year. After two semi-finals, 16 finalists have been selected to compete in the Grand Final on Saturday. It’s great to see that two former Maltese participants take part again: Fabrizio Faniello in the group JVF (“Another Summer Night”, place 9 in Copenhagen 2001 and “I Do”, place 24 in Athens 2006) and Kurt Calleja (“This Is The Night”, place 21 in Baku 2012).

Despite the ongoing war and constant attacks, it is truly remarkable that Ukraine continues to find the strength and determination to participate in Eurovision. In previous years, the national final was even held in an underground station for security reasons.

As one of the founders of eurovisionlive.com I am responsible for the interviews with the singers and the editorial content. My passion for the Eurovision Song Contest exists since my early childhood. The exotic music, different cultures and languages have given a lot of inspiration to me. Since my very first ESC in Dublin 1994 I particularly appreciate the get together and friendship of all the nationalities and Riverdance was a thrill!
