Biography of Marina Satti

Marina Satti, born on December 26, 1986, in Athens, is a multifaceted Greek artist. She is a singer, songwriter, record producer, musical performer, actress, and voice actress. Satti is renowned as the founder and artistic director of the a cappella group “Fonés” and the women's choir “Chóres”.

Growing up in a culturally diverse environment in Heraklion, Crete, Marina's musical journey began early. She received classical piano and singing training from the age of seven and developed a passion for choral music. While initially studying architecture at the University of Athens, she later pursued theatre at prestigious institutions such as Veaki Drama School and the School of Drama 'Central Stage' Mimi Denisi. She also honed her skills in jazz music at the Philippos Nakas Conservatory, winning acclaim in competitions and earning degrees in lyrical monody, classical piano, and music theory.

Marina's artistic endeavours extend to acting, where she has appeared in television series and musicals, including notable performances in "Shrek - The Musical" and "West Side Story." She gained prominence as a solo artist with her modern reinterpretation of the traditional love song "Tha Spáso Koúpes"  in 2016, followed by the success of her self-produced song "Mantissa" in 2017, which garnered international acclaim.

In 2016, Marina founded the female a cappella group Fonés, showcasing traditional polyphonic songs from various cultures. Her contributions to music and performance earned her invitations to prestigious events, including Google's Europe On Stage at BOZAR in Brussels.

Her debut album "YENNA," released in 2022, received widespread praise, leading to a successful European tour. In October 2023, it was announced that Marina Satti would represent Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö with her song “Zari” in English 'cube'.
