We had to wait until the sixth day of rehearsals to have the “Big 5” countries plus the host country Ukraine to rehearse for the first time. It’s interesting to see how they do shape up and what they have on stock, maybe some surprises.

Ukraine

The host country is having a big silver bust on stage which makes a cool impression. The one and only rock song this year will be outstanding. Unfortunately, the song was not well sung today.

Spain

It was to be expected that Manel Navarro comes with the surf and beach program. The entire background looks like a summer holiday with waves and parasols and even more surfboards. The cosy camp fire feeling on the beach is missing here. Manel will be accompanied by his band.

Germany

Levina has changed her look completely. We are used to her sexy pants and open blond hair, now she is wearing a different hairstyle and an old-fashioned skirt, everything in grey, even the LED background is grey. In the beginning she is laying on the floor and she will not wear shoes to prevent falling. Let’s hope they have planned an alternative outfit.

Italy

The ape is with Francesco! This was speculated if he will bring his mascot to Kiev. The entire show is colourful, but decent and the LED background shows oriental ornaments, there is a choir. Francesco even brought his brother to Kiev singing in the background, who has also co-composed his song. Francecso is wearing a black suit. A very good presentation.

United Kingdom

What a beautiful stage, one of the nicest in this year – a lot of golden colours, golden rain and a dark background. There is also a special atmosphere and Lucie is also a very good singer and singing a ballad. This might work well. 

France

Despite of the very cool song the first impression of the stage performance is a bit disappointing. Alma is standing there completely alone and some dancers or background singers would be a big surplus. She almost appears lost, the only striking element is the Eiffel Tower and the night scene: Paris from above. Nevertheless, this is a beautiful singer in a very nice dress.
