There are very exciting changes in the odds by the bookmakers lately. From the beginning Italy has been seen as the clear winner by far. Now at the day of the ESC the dark horse Portugal has overtaken Italy! When looking at the table it is important to know that there is no ranking, it’s about the chance of winning. The more people think that Italy is going to win the less money they would get for at the end if it wins. So it’s cleverer to put your money on outsiders and so it’s logical that other countries get stronger.
Generally everything is possible at the ESC and all of a sudden a performance can click like a wave like in 2001, when Estonia suddenly won, even if the country was seen in the middle field by the bookmakers. And on the other side, strong believed countries have been falling.
