Now it’s time for Sweden to determine the host entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. In the past seven weeks we were able to follow the four semi-finals and the second chance show with all the 27 seven songs and all the excitement. It will all end up in a spectacular final in Stockholm. There are always surprises good and bad. Interesting to see that established Swedish singers or singers, who even represented Sweden in the ESC did not come further like Tommy Nilsson or Martin Stenmarck. Maybe the Swedes thought, those guys have already had the chance back then.
Interesting to see is that some of the entries have reached the top of Swedish charts already such as Samir & Viktor with “Bada Nakna”(#4), Saraha with “Kizunguzungu” (#41), Smilo with “Weight Of The World”. Samir & Viktor should not be underestimated, as they have been topping the charts, even first position! Frans is another hot candidate for the #1 position, he is VERY popular in Sweden since his childhood. Ace Wilder has made a fabulous 2nd place last year in the Melodifestivalen and for David Lindgren it will be his third appearance in the Swedish final. Another favourite is Robin Bengtsson, with his convincing unpretentious entry he might be the winner.
Unlike previous years, there will be 12 entries in the final of the Melodifestivalen. There are a lot of strong songs with a good potential in the ESC, some of them could make a possible win for Sweden

About me: As one of the founders of eurovisionlive.com I am responsible for the interviews with the singers and the editorial content. My passion for the Eurovision Song Contest exists since my early childhood. The exotic music, different cultures and languages have given a lot of inspiration to me. Since my very first ESC in Dublin 1994 I particularly appreciate the get together and friendship of all the nationalities and Riverdance was a thrill!
