Like every year eurovisionlive.com is deciding how many stars will be given to the participating countries in advance. This star rating will be shown on the top of each country’s profile page. This decision is based on the team judgement of the video clips, first impression, the mighty potential of the song and the experience from the past years, what could work and what won’t. The main question is: how much chances the entries will have to win? These stars do not reflect the team’s personal taste, it’s the general chance of winning the ESC.
Each of our five team members has ordered all countries from 1-42 and gave points vice versa from 42 points down to 1 point. The #1 country receives 42 points; the #2 country receives 41 points and so on. The last place #42 receives 1 point.
Some countries have received more stars as they should have got in regards of the total points. This irregularity is caused by the fact the team discussion has lead that a country has got an upgrade. Such countries deserve a better star rating as the calculation would allow. These countries are: Australia, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Latvia, Serbia, Hungary, Armenia, Israel, Estonia and San Marino.
***** Australia, France, Sweden **** Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Russia, Serbia, Spain *** Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Estonia, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Lithuania, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Ukraine ** Albania, Austria, Belarus, Denmark, Finland, FYR Macedonia, Greece, Moldova, Poland, UK * Bosnia & Herzegovina, Georgia, Montenegro, (Romania), San Marino, Slovenia, Switzerland
On the lower scale, there is no country without a star.
The eurovisionlive.com star awards will show the potential winning candidates. There might be surprises and our estimation could be wrong, but that’s a part of the excitement.
You will have all 42 country profiles with all necessary information about the singers, the ESC history and the video clips.

About me: As one of the founders of eurovisionlive.com I am responsible for the interviews with the singers and the editorial content. My passion for the Eurovision Song Contest exists since my early childhood. The exotic music, different cultures and languages have given a lot of inspiration to me. Since my very first ESC in Dublin 1994 I particularly appreciate the get together and friendship of all the nationalities and Riverdance was a thrill!
