Over the recent years there were many great ballads from the Balkan countries, with the typical folkloristic and melancholic elements. “Oro” is also such a kind of song with this these special characteristics: a great melody, Balkan instruments, well studied choreography and a convincing stage appearance. No wonder that the composer of the song “Oro” is the famous Željko Joksimovic, who has already written and sung “Lane Moje” in 2004 and came 2nd for Serbia & Montenegro as well as one year later as composer “Leijla” for Bosnia & Herzegovina and came 3rd. Željko is not only going to be the composer of the Serbian song “Oro”, he is additionally going to be one of the hosts together with Jovana Jankovic in Belgrade this year. Under all these positive circumstances, Serbia has a quite good stand this year: a brilliant song, a very good singer, an exceptionally gifted composer and an even superior starting position in the final at #23! As Serbia is the host country it is automatically qualified for the final, as well as the Big Four countries Spain, France, Germany and United Kingdom. |
