Switzerland has waken up from being Sleeping Beauty. Since the Estonian girlband Vanilla Ninja started In the 80's the Swiss entries were highly praised and mainly sung in the French language. But recently the enthusiasm has gone and Switzerland had to face the fact not being musically interesting anymore. The organizers have changed the concept dramatically and sent the Estonian group Vanilla Ninja to last year's final and could reach a top 10 position.
Switzerland will be on the first starting position and has the honour of opening the final. The German composer Ralph Siegel utilized the opportunity and set up a group of six international singers named six4one. There are Andreas Lundsted from Sweden, Marco Matthias from Germany, Claudia D'Addio from Switzerland, Liel from Israel, Tinka Milinovic from Bosnia & Herzegovina and Keith Camilleri from Malta. The most famous one is the Swede Andreas Lundsted. He already had several pan European chart hits with his group Alcazar like "Crying in the discoteque". The question is if such a diced group can make a unit.
The sound is quite typical for the composer Ralph Siegel, but this guy has learned a lot over the years. He exactly knows what people like to listen and watch at Eurovision. Nobody else like him knowing the Eurovision Song Contest in a better way and working so hard until the last minute like Ralph Siegel. The video clip is well made, the voices are strong and smooth and the refrain is memorable in a positive way. Switzerland has a realistic chance this year, due to the sympathetic singers with brilliant voices.
