
Berlin has been the venue for a special Ukrainian concert with lots of ESC singers
Berlin has been the venue for a special event “Save Ukraine #StopWar”. The purpose of this live event was to draw attention to the dramatic war situation in Ukraine and to raise money for helping people in need. There have been live circuits with people gathering together all around the world such as in France and Canada, and politician took their chance to speak to the people. Germany’s chancellor Olaf Scholz held the opening speech via video message. The host of the evening were Timur Miroshnychenko and Masha Efrosinina, both hosted the Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv: Masha in 2005 and Timur in 2017.
Despite of the tragic situation, the event also had some entertaining elements with a lot of good music, to show that Ukrainian culture is still alive. Eurovision winners Kalush Orchestra sang their winning entry “Stefania” and other former ESC participants have been among the artists: Melovin, Tina Karol and the band Onuka, who have been the interval act in 2017.
