The singers from this year’s ESC will walk along the turquoise carpet for the welcome reception. The official start of the 66th Eurovision Song Contest will be celebrated.
One of the highlights in-between the tough weeks of rehearsals is the red carpet event, which is called “Turquoise carpet” this year, which is 200 metres long. This red carpet procedure has been invented in Oslo 2010 to bring a bit more glamour to the ESC. The singers and delegations strut on the turquoise carpet. It’s a bit to see and be seen with hundreds of photo and video opportunities are waiting for the press and fans. Unfortunately, our eurovisionlive.com team will not be doing interviews at this event as we are not in Turin this year.
The event will take place at the Veneria Reale, a castle one hour outside of Turin, the Mayor of Turin Stefano Lorusso, is going to welcome the delegations of 40 countries in the majestic Galleria Grande of the Reggia. Among the officials will also be Martin Österdahl, the Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest and the Executive producers Simona Martorelli and Claudio Fasulo.
