Italy’s music is popular and will also be a big part of the three shows of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Turin
For the third time Italy is hosting the Eurovision Song Contest, Naples 1965 Naples, Rome 1991 and Turin 2022. The victory and success of Måneskin has increased the general interest in the ESC. Therefore the host broadcaster RAI has put everything on one card, with the choice of the hosts Laura Pausini , Mika and Alessandro Cattelan, who are very popular artists inside and outside of Italy. And Italy is known for good music and musicians, it’s obvious that RAI has also chosen to bring their superstars on stage in Turin. Diodato , who has been chosen to represent Italy in 2020, and could not go because of the cancellation of the ESC, will be singing in the interval act of the first semi-final. In the second semi-final, Il Volo are going to be on stage, they made a third place in Vienna 2015 with “Grande Amore”.
In the Grand Final, the hosts Laura Pausini and Mika will perform as singers and furthermore Gigliola Cinquetti – the first winner for Italy (Non Ho L'étà in 1964) and Måneskin will sing for another time.

About me: Due to the fact that my parents are musicians, I have a gained a great enthusiasm for music. Since 1979 my interest in the Eurovision Song Contest has grown enormously. My first ESC I joined was in Dublin 1995. Six years later I founded the website eurovisionlive.com in the year 2001. The most fascinating part for me is the original idea of the Eurovision Song Contest – the peaceful contest of the European countries. I am very happy that I have the chance to contribute my little part for the greatest music show in the world.
