The most important stage design seems to not work. The construction is not moving as planned.
Normally the Eurovision stage is being build much earlier. This year the ornate stage design with turning arches has caused a lot of problems. The construction seem to fail with its movement. In the animated computer preview it seemed that this ingenious construction of various arches can be moved to every direction. Now it seems that it cannot move at all. It’s still unclear if the problem can be solved until the first live show. If the stage does not work as planned, it will also have an impact on all the individual rehearsals. As the delegations have to check their performance in the viewing room later, a not working as planned stage can destroy an act completely. Will the technical team be able to fix it or to improvise? Let’s cross the fingers that everything goes well as planned so that the artists do not suffer from it.

About me: As one of the founders of eurovisionlive.com I am responsible for the interviews with the singers and the editorial content. My passion for the Eurovision Song Contest exists since my early childhood. The exotic music, different cultures and languages have given a lot of inspiration to me. Since my very first ESC in Dublin 1994 I particularly appreciate the get together and friendship of all the nationalities and Riverdance was a thrill!
