Who will follow Go_A's big ESC success in the Ukraine? The Ukrainian national final Vidbir starts tonight
The Ukraine has become a strong contender in the Eurovision Song Contest since their debut in 2003. Two times the Ukraine was able to win the ESC in 2004 with Ruslana “Wild Dances” and 2016 with Jamala “1944”. All the Ukrainian entries made it to the Grand Finals and among the 16 participations, they came in the Top 10 for 10 times! The Ukraine has withdrawn twice in ESC history 2015 and 2019. Let’s hope that there will be peace and everything goes smoothly so that we can see the Ukrainian entry 2022 at the stage of Turin. The Ukrainian broadcaster NTU will also provide a live stream for the Vidbir 2022 from the NAU Center of Culture and Arts in Kyiv.
There were 284 submitted songs, while there are eight finalist left now. In this year’s jury will be Jamala, Tina Karol and Yaroslav Lodigin. The hosts are Timur Miroshnychenko (the host of the 2017 ESC in Kiev) and Masha Efrosinina.
These are the eight finalists:
