The Benidorm Fest 2022 will be broadcasted tonight, 8 finalsts and former ESC singers will be joing the show
The Benidorm Fest 2022 is this year’s format for the national Spanish final to determine the representative for Turin. This week there have already been two semi-finals, where four participants per show have qualified for the grand final tonight. There is a jury, which consist of 60% national and 40% international jury members. Additionally 25% of the votes come for a demoscopic panel and the remaining 25% from televoting.
One of the biggest names this year Azucar Moreno, who have already represented Spain back in 1990 with “Bandido” (5th place) could not qualify for this year’s final. The TV spectators voted the two Andalusian singer on the last place in the first semi-final. What a pity as their song “Postuero” would have been a top act for Turin.
Tonight, the hosts will be Inés Hernand, Alaska and Máximo Huerta and among the guest stars will be Pastora Soler (“Quédate Conmigo”, 10th place 2012), Blas Cantó (“Voy A Quedarme”, 24th place 2021) and Mocedades (“Eres Tú”, 2nd place 1973). It’s a quite colourful final, the biggest favourite is probably Rigobberta Bandini together with Chanel. The composer for Xeinn’s song is no less then Thomas G:sson, the Swedish composer for Loreen’s winning entry “Euphoria”.

About me: As one of the founders of eurovisionlive.com I am responsible for the interviews with the singers and the editorial content. My passion for the Eurovision Song Contest exists since my early childhood. The exotic music, different cultures and languages have given a lot of inspiration to me. Since my very first ESC in Dublin 1994 I particularly appreciate the get together and friendship of all the nationalities and Riverdance was a thrill!
