According to the main German news “Tagesschau” the bombings also should harm the Eurovision Song Contest which will take place on May 18th. The security in and around the arena as well in Tel Aviv is very high. Nevertheless it must be taken into consideration that there might be attempts to avert that Israel is showing off.
It has just been a premonition in the weeks before, but it seems that the Eurovision Song Contest is getting into a difficult circumstances. Last night there were over 200 bombs falling down on Israeli territory. These bombs have been fired off form the Gaza Strip. Normally the bombs don’t get very far as the Israeli department of defense destroys most of it. But some caused immense damages, luckily nobody was hurt. We have been monitoring this aspect of security very closely. But now the thread is going to be coming closer to reality. As bombs also reached suburbs of Tel Aviv some weeks ago, so it has to be taken seriously.
Will Tel Aviv be a safe place during Eurovision? The rehearsals have started today and everything went according the normal schedule. But what will happen if the bombs reach Tel Aviv again? What does it mean for all the singers, delegations, fans and journalists?

For Israel it’s the best chance to represent itself to the world as open and liberal, a perfect holiday place, the whole world will be watching. So let’s hope that everything goes well and that the security will never be in danger.
