Like every year the video clips may differ from the live performances. So there are good and bad surprises. It is always interesting to see the first reaction in the press centre when the participants unveil their stage show.

A closer look into all details is necessary to reassess the entire performance. So in some cases it is a real surprise and all of a sudden performers shine thanks to a clever choreography like from the Moldovan team DoReDos. The producer Philip Kirkovov has been responsible for stage presentation. There is a huge folding door wall. And only parts of the singers are visible, the doors do open and close and it and create a funny confusion. This performance has been highly appreciated by the international press and fans.
While the Russian entry caused amazement, as Julia Samoylova is sitting on a kind of mountain. The vocals did not change to previously recorded stage appearance. This might end up disastrous for Russia this year.
Cyprus’ performance fulfilled all expectations yesterday, Eleni’s performance was very sexy and belongs to the big favourites this year.
The Greek entry could have a darker stage to punctuate the elegance and mysticism.
The Dutch entry by Waylon is solid, but the crazy dancers on stage are misleading. It would be wise of the Dutch delegation reassess this stage performance and do without the dancers.
By now it is not possible to enter the arena, so we can give a more detailed judgement at the end of the week.
