There are always rumours and hopes, which singers will take part in the upcoming Swedish national final, one of the most watched TV program in Sweden, which enjoys a great popularity. For 2022 there are quite a few familiar faces like Klara Hammarström, Lisa Ajax, John Lundvik, Anna Bergendahl, Robin Bengtsson, Linda Bengtzing and Shirley Clamp, just to mention some of them. Among those there are three winners of the Melodifestivalen, who were able to represent Sweden at the Eurovision Contest: John Lundivk, Anna Bergendahl and Robin Bengtsson.
The songwriters Thomas G:sson and Bobby Ljunggren will also be among the “Mello” next year. Altogether there are six shows, four quarterfinals, one semi final (formerly “Second Chance” show) and the final show. Each show will take place in another city, these are Malmö, Göteborg, Linköping and Lidköping for the quarter finals, Örnsköldsvik for the semifinal and the Friends arena in Stockholm will be the location of the Grand Final.
The shows will be transmitted in the internet on https://www.svtplay.se/ each Saturday, starting from February 5th, 2022. The host will be Oscar Zia, who has been participating as a singer several times. The songs will only presented shortly prior each show. And there will be 28 songs out of 2530 submitted entries.
