As earlier reported, the Belorussian band Galasy Zmesta had to find another song, as the song did not match the criteria of the EBU. Songs with political, racial or discriminate content, beside of peace themes are not allowed to present on a Eurovision stage. The song “Ya Nauchu Tebya” – “I Will Teach You”, had clear political statements to support the Belorussian government.
The EBU has discussed this with the reference group and decided that either the band has to send another song or a new participant with a new song. The broadcaster BR has decided to send the same band with another song. Unfortunately, the criteria did not match another time, with the consequence that Belarus has not send a correct song in time which matches the rules. In other words, Belarus has been disqualified for this year.
