It has been one of the shortest and desultory national finals in the Eurovision history, only three songs in a show of one hour! The Russian broadcaster Channel One has produced a national final instead sending Little Big to Rotterdam. The band Little Big has been internally selected last year, but they denied to compete again. The appeared on stage, presenting their song “Uno”, but also emphasized that they are having other plans, the host and audience took it with regrets.
Interesting to see an audience again, and there were no masks anywhere in the auditorium.
Among the guests were of course Philipp Kirkorov, the Russian Eurovision guru, who has participated by himself in 1995 with “Lullaby For Volcano” , made a 17th place in Dublin. Here in Moscow he gave another special performance with a modern rhythm. This year’s Moldovan singer Natalia Gordienco, Koldun from Belarus, Prime Minister, Masha Katz (Youddiph), Dina Garispova, Polina Gagarina and Dima Bilan joined the Russian Eurovision party.
The song “Russian Woman” is an unusual song with an interesting combination of modern chanting and traditional Russian music. Another interesting fact is that the song about a Russian Woman could win on the international Women’s Day.
