In the Portuguese national final there has not been a crystal clear winner this year. The favourite of the seven regional juries was Carolina Deslandes with "Por um triz”, the public voted The Black Mamba on second place and Carolina Deslandes on third place. There has been a tie, the hosts of the show Filomena Cautela and Vasco Pamleirim emphasised that the rules of the Festival da Canção say if there is a tie, the votes of the public do have priority. Hence both songs had 20 points, at the end The Black Mamba could win with the most contemporary song of the night, which was strongly influenced by traditional Fado sound. It’s great to see that Portugal is a strong contender in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.

About me: As one of the founders of eurovisionlive.com I am responsible for the interviews with the singers and the editorial content. My passion for the Eurovision Song Contest exists since my early childhood. The exotic music, different cultures and languages have given a lot of inspiration to me. Since my very first ESC in Dublin 1994 I particularly appreciate the get together and friendship of all the nationalities and Riverdance was a thrill!
