The long awaited Grand Final of the Eesti Laul 2021 has come. Tonight 12 participants compete for the ticket to Rotterdam, if the delegations can travel to Rotterdam is still unknown, but the organizers seem to be optimistic.
After two entertaining semi finals the final 12 songs and singers have been chosen by the Estonian public as well as from an expert jury. Last year’s winner Uku Suviste had to chance to participate again in this year’s competition, but he has to qualify again. Among tonight’s performers are also some more former ESC representatives: Ivo Linna with “Kaelakee Hääl” , together with Maarja-Liis Ilus (Oslo 1996, 5th place), Jüri Pootsmann with “Play” , (Stockholm 2016, 18th place in the semi final) and Koit Toome with “Mere Lapsed” (Birmingham 1998, 12th place) and “Verona” together with Laura (Kiev 2017, 14th place in the semi final).
The final show will take place in the Saku Suurhall, where the 2002 ESC took place as well. The host of the show are Tõnis Niinemets and Grete Kuld like in the semi finals. We can expect an entertaining evening of very varied music styles. The quality of the songs is always high, it’s just amazing how much effort the Estonians put in this music show, so much creativity and inspiration, other countries could learn from.
