The electro-folk group GO_A has another chance to represent the Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest this year in Rotterdam. Unfortunately, last year has been cancelled. Due to this fact the Ukrainian broadcaster has been generous and will let them having a second try. There were three songs to choose from. An expert jury has chosen the song “SHUM” or “Шумj”, which means noise.
The video clip looks a bit weird and dystopic, the group is wearing white protection suits and face masks in front of a foggy city, not very inviting though. There is a very interesting mix of electro, folkloristic elements the white singing of the lead singer Kateryna and a faster getting rhythm. At the end of the video clip, Kateryna gets rid of her mask, people are dancing, it seems that there is a yearning of the end of corona.

About me: Due to the fact that my parents are musicians, I have a gained a great enthusiasm for music. Since 1979 my interest in the Eurovision Song Contest has grown enormously. My first ESC I joined was in Dublin 1995. Six years later I founded the website eurovisionlive.com in the year 2001. The most fascinating part for me is the original idea of the Eurovision Song Contest – the peaceful contest of the European countries. I am very happy that I have the chance to contribute my little part for the greatest music show in the world.
