Across Basel, residents and visitors alike are being treated to a visual feast: trams adorned with the official Eurovision 2025 logo and vivid artwork now glide through the city streets. These decorated trams, wrapped in colourful designs that reflect this year’s contest theme, serve both as functional public transport and mobile symbols of Basel’s role as the cultural capital of Europe this spring.
The creative city dressing goes beyond transportation. Banners, billboards, and digital displays throughout Basel proudly display Eurovision branding, unifying the city in anticipation of the grand event. Landmarks and public squares are also being outfitted with themed decorations, giving even routine strolls a festive flair.
Meanwhile, preparations at the St. Jakobshalle — the venue for this year’s competition — are in full swing. Technicians, stage designers, and production crews are working around the clock to ready the arena, as artists and delegations from across Europe and beyond begin to arrive. The first rehearsals are scheduled to commence soon, marking the start of an intense lead-up to the three live shows.
City officials have emphasized sustainability and inclusivity in the event’s organization, ensuring that the celebration of music also reflects Basel’s values. Local businesses are also joining in the festivities, offering themed menus, hosting fan gatherings, and even dressing their storefronts with Eurovision-inspired designs.
As Eurovision fever sweeps through Basel, the city stands ready to welcome fans from around the globe with open arms, dazzling visuals, and a warm Swiss welcome.
Let the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 begin — Basel is ready!

As one of the founders of eurovisionlive.com I am responsible for the interviews with the singers and the editorial content. My passion for the Eurovision Song Contest exists since my early childhood. The exotic music, different cultures and languages have given a lot of inspiration to me. Since my very first ESC in Dublin 1994 I particularly appreciate the get together and friendship of all the nationalities and Riverdance was a thrill!
