Quite early the Austrian broadcaster ORF has revealed the motto of next year’s ESC: “Buliding Bridges”. The tag line or motto for Eurovision Song Contest has been introduced in 2002 in Tallinn, Estonia for the first time. The intention is to give a special emphasis to each year’s competition. Beside the official generic logo each broadcaster can add an individual logo which is the most suitable for the host country.
The ORF has uttered that there were many ideas to host the wold’s largest music TV event, in Vienna the idea with the “building bridges” was the most suitable in particular after the end of World War II it’s the 70th year that European shake hands with each other, building a bridge between East and West. The bridges which should be build across borders, cultures and languages.
The victory of Conchita Wurst as a homosexual in a woman’s outfit and a beard has shown that also tolerance, love and respect has succeeded all over Europe. In the current unstable political situation such a motto like this, which unites seems to be the most appropriate for the upcoming ESC in 2015.
The next Eurovision Song Contest will take place on the 23rd May, 2015. The Semi Final 1 on the 19th and the Semi Final 2 on the 21st of May.
Technical Director, Editor, Webmaster
About me: I'm the technical director of eurovisionlive.com and editor for our German corner. I watched my first ESC in 1998 (Birmingham) in London, so I was able to vote for Guildo Horn. Since this moment I was infected with the ESC virus. In 2011 I met Torsten & Jens from eurovisionlive.com and they asked me to create a new homepage for them. Until 2011 eurovisionlive.com was only a "hard coded" HTML page. In 2012 we started with a redesign based on a modern content management system called Joomla. In 2014/2015 we worked hard on a re-redesign, launched it on 13 February 2015.
