The TV spectators have chosen “Taken by a stranger”, written by the Americans: Nicole Morier, Gus Seyffert and Monica Birkenes. With 79% of the votes “Taken by a stranger” obviously gained, the ballad “Push forward” was the second favorite of the night.
Ten countries have made up their mind for their entry for Düsseldorf already. Tonight the host country Germany will determine the song 2011. Last year’s winner Lena would like to defend her title in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.
Due to the fact, that the song submission deadline is scheduled for the mid of March, there is much activity in the participating countries finding the right song for Düsseldorf. Some countries have already chosen their song and singer already:
The allotment of the 56th Eurovision Song Contest has been determined by a draw under the attendance of the EBU, this afternoon in the Apollo Theatre in Düsseldorf. This is not the running order, which will be determined in March.
It has now been revealed that Germany’s motto for the 56th Eurovision Song Contest is called “Feel your heart beat”. The official Eurovision logo only changes its flag, city name and year, but the host country is allowed to have a co-logo with a motto. Having a motto for each year has been introduced 2002 in Tallin.
January the 17th will be the day of the allotment for the Semi Finals. Here it will be determined which country will go in Semi Final 1 or 2. So from 43 participating countries, the Big 5 (France, United Kingdom, Spain, Germany and Italy) will automatically start in the Final.
