Belarus 2010

Belarus

Participant(s): 3+2
Song: Butterflies
Writer(s): Malka Chaplin
Composer(s): Maxim Fadeev

3+2 For the seventh time Belarus is going to take part in the Eurovision Song Contest. In the debut year 2004 there was a cool and outstanding song called “My Galileo” by Aleksandra & Konstanin. Belarus has been more focused on European rock music recently, the only real pop song “Work your magic” by Koldun in 2007 came 6th and was the most successful song ever for this country. Sometimes there are singers from Russia singing for Belarus and vice versa. Last year’s winner Alexander Rybak is originally from Belarus, but immigrated to Norway as a child.

In Belarus the determination of the song is always a bit strange. Once there was a song, and all of a sudden there is a new song. However, with “Butterflies” Belarus has probably the best chances ever! The very promising ballad is convincing by first hearing. The way the video clip is made is impressing and beautiful, good voices, nice singers and a catchy melody. If 3+2 can transfer this atmosphere on stage in Oslo, a very good rank is granted. Remember, since last year not only televoters will be voting, the juries are back and this one is probably highly preferred by juries. Good luck Belarus, good choice!
