Sinéad Mulvey & Black Daisy Ireland has been THE Eurovision country with the absolute winning record of seven times! The 90’s were the most successful years for Ireland, no other country could top that so far. Nowadays, the majority of the participating countries are singing in English. So for the native speaking English countries like the United Kingdom, Malta and Ireland this is a definite disadvantage they used to have over decades. Furthermore the pressure has gone even higher, there are two semi finals and around 40 countries in the meantime. Especially the Eastern European countries, which don’t have such big music industries are very keen on winning and bringing every effort with best performance and individuality. So the Western European countries are forced in a strong way and must even do better and can’t rely on last decade recipes.

Many times, Ireland has send ballads to Eurovision, very seldom there have been fast pop songs. This year we are going to have another rocky and fast song from Ireland. The girl band Mulvey & Black Daisy are innovative and making authentic music. When they are playing their instruments they are really getting into form and rock the place. Their song “Et cetera” is a catchy tune and will probably not convince the audience by first hearing. In comparison to the other songs, this is a fresh alternative which should not be underestimated!
