Bosnia & Herzegovina 2009

Bosnia & Herzegovina

Participant(s): Regina
Song: Bistra Voda
Writer(s): Aleksandar Covic
Composer(s): Aleksandar Covic

Regina It’s always exciting to watch entries from Bosnia & Herzegovina. The rule is the more exotic the song, the more votes it receives. Bosnia & Herzegovina is in the lucky position that the other Balkan countries share the same kind of music and often the singers are well known in the neighbour countries. Beside of that, the entries always had international potential, which was rewarded by the televoters. And good positions and qualifications were granted.

The band Regina exists since 1990 and is absolutely famous in the Balkan countries. The participant for Moscow has been chosen by the TV station without a pre decision. The video clip looks a bit communistic with red flags and symbols, which might attract the Eastern European viewers in Moscow. The song itself has a strange rhythm with a military drum. Furthermore the song reminds a bit of famous song “Dust in the wind” in the refrain. Due to the popularity of the band, the message of the song and the good starting position in the first semi final the chances are quite high to qualify for the final.
