No Angels The huge interest in the Eurovision Song Contest has increased in Germany exactly ten years ago when Guildo Horn woke up the nation with his funny song “Guildo hat euch lieb“. More and more famous musicians tried the game of the contest. Nowadays participation does not automatically mean that the career is at a risk anymore. Even more, it helps for promotional reasons. Despite of the poor results the German entries were very well played from the radio stations and reached the charts – even topped them! Just remember Texas Lightening with “No no never” – it was the summer hit in 2006, or Max Mutzke with “Can’t wait until tonight”. Even last year’s singer Roger Cicero can’t complain about the overall interest in his person and music.

But how can Germany retrieve the European crown of music? The Germans have chosen “Disappear” by the No Angels via televoting. It was a tough competition. The German girl group is probably the most famous one right now in Germany, and furthermore it is known abroad, too. The group is quite international – all the girls are from different nations - and exists since the year 2000 discovered and assembled by a casting show. The song “Disappear” is a modern and light pop tune, just right in the mood of 2008 without any dramas. Due to this year’s moderate competition, this uplifting and fresh song might have a good chance.
