Elvir Lakovic Laka Bosnia & Herzegovina had it’s debut at Eurovision in 1993. After that the Balkan country has been participating every year. There is a kind of rule - the more exotic the music the bigger the success for Bosnia & Herzegovina. For example “Putnici” in 1999 came 7th and “Leijla” in 2006 came 3rd. This shows that extraordinary songs from Bosnia & Herzegovina are highly appreciated by the international audience. Due to the fact that the other ex-Yugoslav countries are always willing to give high points, so good positions are nearly granted.

As there many gimmick songs in this year’s contest it’s no wonder that many countries try to provoke with outstanding songs. “Pokusaj” is such a striking song. The refrain will be repeated so many times after another that the melody doesn’t go out of your head. It reminds a bit of a children song. But why did put living animals on stage? Due to the EBU regulations it is not allowed and it even will have no effect on the result, not even with a cheap plastic turkey from Ireland.
