Turkey is participating since 1975 with more or less success. Sertab Ernerer could save the country’s pride with a great victory in 2003 in Riga. “Everyway that I can” was a summer smash hit and has been played even in Greek radio stations. Since hosting the contest in 2004, Turkey also tries to do more musical experiments. The poor and unsuccessful years with ending up last are certainly over. If you listen to this year’s entry from Kenan you will see that Turkey is on the right way. “Shake it up shekerim” is absolutely 2007 – modern, groovy and melodic. The rhythm is catchy and new, with a prise of orient. Felicitous.
