The Eurovision history of Romania is unique. 1994 the Romanians took part for the first time and they returned almost every year. The ranking has gone better and better all the time. Last year Luminita received the highest result ever - the third place! Romania does not really profit from the "Balkan Connection", but from it's very good performance: high quality songs, modern and accordable to the European taste of music.

This years entry is another smash hit, which doesn't really sound like a song you would imagine from Romania. The Romanian language is quite well connected with the Italian. When you listen to "Torneo" it comes Nek from Italy on your mind. Even though the song will be sung in English with a Romanian title line. That's why the country will probably be successful for another time. The Junior Eurovision Song Contest is going to be hosted by Romania in Bucharest this year and so it would be easy to imagine the 2007 contest in Bucharest.
