Ukraine 2005

Ukraine

Participant(s): Greenjolly
Song: Razom nas bahato
Writer(s): Greenjolly
Composer(s): Greenjolly

Greenjolly With her "Wild Dances" Ruslana could get the first victory for the Ukraine. And it has only been the second participation of the Ukraine at all! Ruslana made a huge promotion tour thoughout Europe and was well presented in many TV-shows and gave concerts. Her extraodinary show with dance, whips and fire has been awarded with many points!. She has even overtrumped Sertab with "Everyway that I can".

This year the Ukraine is the host country of the 50th Eurovision Song Contest. A quick winner if you consider that other countries like Finland or Greece always participated but never won. The victory means a lot for the Ukraine. This is the opportunity to show the world what a beautiful country it is and how European the Ukraine is. Ukraine ogles being a future member of the EU.

The Ukraine had a quite big preselection over several weeks. At the end the wildcard has made it - like in Germany. Due to the revolution at the end of last year - the Ukraine wanted to find a new identity and the Ukrainian song "Razom nas bahato" by Greenjolly is the extract of it. This is a hiphop song which is quite unusual for the Eurovision Song Contest - the political message had to be altered due to the EBU rules. Nevertheless last years host country Turkey has also sent a modern group and shaped up very well.
