Slovenia 2005

Slovenia

Participant(s): Omar Naber
Song: Stop
Writer(s): Ursa Vlašic
Composer(s): Omar Naber

Omar Naber Since 1993 Slovenia is a strong member of the Eurovision Song Contest. In a strange way Slovenia is often mixed up with Slovakia. We remember the funny thing with the wrong scoreboard in Riga!
Slovenia has always sent songs with a high quality standard. We all love to remember those beautiful song: "Prisluhni mi" by Darja Švajger (Dublin 1995), "Energy" by Nuša Derenda (Copenhagen 2001) and "Tih dezeven dan" by 1xBand (Millstreet 1993).
Last year's duo Platin was not able to convince the Europeans with "Stay Forever". They could not even reach the final. Maybe the song was a bit too much kitsch. But this is unusual, because kitsch is always highly welcomed at the Grand Prix.

The 23-years old Omar Naber is going to represent Slovenia this year. His song is named "Stop". Handsome Omar has a clear and strong voice which is quite suitable to his melancholic - not saying sad song. Even though it is a beautiful meloldy and a good voice. A strong contestant this year!
