After not participating last year, the Portuguese are very happy to be at the Eurovision again. The people in Portugal love the Song Contest, even if this country often ends up very low. The Portuguese have to most complicate system to select the song for Europe, which always takes some weekends.

The sympathetic duo “MTM” is very proud to present such a modern song for Portugal – even if it sounds like a typical song from Portugal. MTM stands for Marco, Tony and music. Marco composed the song “So Sei Ser Feliz Assim” (The only way) and also written the lyrics. He made his music-experiences in a choir where he got in touch with Jazz, Soul and R&B. Marco is not new in Eurovision, he has also written the Portuguese entry from 1993 “A Cidade Até Ser Dia” for Portugal sung by Anabela.

Tony is from Angola and is a physician. He also got involved with music in casinos and TV-Shows and worked together with the Soul-Legend Percy Sledge.

This medium slow song won’t have a big chance to end up very high. The bad results from former years show that this kind of music is “out” in Europe.
